UKSCL Season One – Groups, Schedules & Rules

Groups: http://binarybeast.com/xSC212072815

There are 22 groups (A-V) of 10 players, seeded on a random basis. The emphasis of this is to ensure every player gets a fair chance. The top 3 players of each group will go through to bracket play.

We have invited any caster who would like to get involved to cast any match they would like. If you are chosen by a caster, please work with them to arrange your match. They will be contacting you a week before your scheduled match is set to happen. Casters may either cast live on stream or via on demand (YouTube) We will also be arranging a weekly show on Sunday with the featured caster of the week so we will be in touch ourselves.

Players are expected to idle in the “UKSCL” channel on Battlenet ingame. This will help us find you and provide support along with you arranging your matches.

Schedule:

Matches must be played on a weekly basis by the following dates for each round:

Round 1: 16/09/2012
Round 2: 23/09/2012

Want to cast for the UKSCL?

Want to cast for the UKSCL?

Our primary goal at the UKSCL is to build the UK scene. We want to encourage all the talent the UK has, we want to give them more exposure and we want to make the UK scene something we can all be proud of.

We’ve got upcoming players at the moment, JonnyREcco and Ziktomini bursting onto the scene in multiple tournaments. We’ve had breakout caster Jorosar enjoy a whistle stop tour of multiple major US events. We’ve had barcrafts get bigger and bigger, and WCS UK featured Tastosis. We’re getting noticed!

We want to keep this growth strong and positive. The UKSCL itself will give exposure to players, but we thought, what about casters? To each and every budding caster out in the UK, we invite you to come forward, and cast games from what we hope will be the biggest UK tournament ever.

No matter how little or how much casting experience you have, if you think you want to get in to casting, then you can. We have so many players signed up already, how can we possibly give each of them the exposure they deserve without a huge pool of UK casters with the passion to bring their games to a mass audience.

Our plan as it stands is that each caster, or pairing, will be expected to produce a cast of up to three series each week, from master league players to bronze leaguers, to show the most epic games that the UKSCL produces.

All the casts done by UKSCL casters will be put on our website, advertised on our twitter, be put on YouTube under your own account with UKSCL in the title, and once a week, the UKSCL caster with the most viewed series will be invited to cast on the official UKSCL livestream. (The previous weeks winner will be excluded).

If you’re interested, or have questions, please either email us at dave@ukscl.tv or albert@ukscl.tv, or alternatively, feel free to leave a comment below. I’m also available to talk to on Skype (karnage_dave)

UKSCL Launched

UKSCL Launched

The UK Starcraft 2 League (UKSCL) was formed by David “Davesan” Brooks and Albert “LemonyTang” Johnson due the lack of regular UK league competition for Starcraft 2. We aim to help build on the UK’s existing StarCraft 2 talent base by providing a regular weekly league, open to all Starcraft 2 players based in the UK. The UKSCL is currently privately owned and funded, but we hope to attract partners as our userbase and spectator numbers expand.

Season 1 of the UKSCL will consist of up to 5 groups of 10 players who will compete for the top 3 spots in their groups, the top 3 will then go through to an elimination bracket where £100 will be up grabs for the winner.

The UKSCL will also help support the UK scene by providing regular news, content and forums for our players and spectators.

You can find us on both Twitter and Facebook:
